Muhammad Mujtaba, Ph.D. Student
Since I was in Senior High School, I have believed that natural science is an important factor in a life. All human activities in several fields such as biotechnology, economics, trade, social and others will run well if they are cited in a good natural science framework. This circumstance stimulated me to attend the faculty of natural sciences (Plant Sciences). But during my postgraduate studies a surprising turning point I faced when I started to work on biomaterial science. This was, yes surprising and a totally new start for me compared to my background studies, but I realized that it is the best-matched subject with my potentials where I can express my thoughts and scientific imaginations (Thanks to my MSc supervisor, Prof. Dr. Kaya :)). From then I started working with organic polymers including, Chitin, Chitosan, and cellulose in terms of its production, characterizations and possible applications in various areas. Now during my Ph.D. I am trying to combine my polymer knowledge with plant science. I am working for the blending of these very diverse areas for a possible thesis :).
